The first leg started off in a chaotic fashion, with the hosts trying to get the ball out of their half in the 43rd minute and eventually losing possession.
The match ended with the visitors losing the ball twice and losing the advantage.
Lazio won the first corner in the 66th minute, and went on to win the second corner, too.
The goal by Luka Modric, who scored for the Italians, gave the hosts the lead with 10 minutes remaining.
The scoreline looked bleak, but with a couple of late goals, the game looked to be in the balance.
In the second half, Lazio finally started to show their hand, but the home side were lucky to escape with a draw.
